Mr. Christopher Coye - Director British Caribbean Bank International Ltd presenting cheque to Mr. Francis Woods of Unite Belize Initiative
November 15, 2010...The British Caribbean Bank International Limited (BCBIL) donated ten thousand Belize dollars (BZ$10,000) to the Unite Belize Initiative to assist in community rehabilitation efforts in Belize City.
The Management of BCBIL recognized and appreciated the worthiness of the Unite Belize Initiative and was proud to partner with a new and innovative program working toward job creation and social upliftment.
The Unite Belize Initiative seeks to foster a peaceful existence in several under-privileged communities in the South-side of Belize City, and brings together the main gang related groups with a common goal of uplifting the living conditions within the communities. Beneficiary communities will be many of those in Belize City currently experiencing higher levels of poverty and other social challenges. Young gang members involved in the programme construct and repair homes in their respective neighborhoods. Unite Belize is also supported by the Kolbe Foundation, which manages the Belize central prison and the Rotary Club.
Funds donated to the Unite Belize Initiative will contribute directly to the work of constructing and rehabilitating homes for families most in need, as well as provide food supplies for many economically challenged persons.
